What site preparation covers
Everything that happens before the surface goes down.
Grading sets the shape of the site: where it is high, where it is low, and which direction water travels. Site preparation makes sure that shape is built out of material that can carry traffic without moving. Get those two right and the pavement on top has a fair chance. Get them wrong and no amount of good asphalt will save it.
We do this work as part of our own paving projects, and standalone site work for properties that need shaping, drainage correction, or a prepared base may be evaluated separately.

Why does grading matter more than the asphalt itself?
Because asphalt is flexible. It follows whatever is underneath it. If the subgrade is soft or holds water, the surface above will settle, crack, and fail no matter how well it was laid.
Can you do grading without paving?
Dirt work, rough grading, drainage shaping, and base preparation are part of our paving projects, and standalone site work may be evaluated separately. Ask us about the specific project.
What is subgrade correction?
Removing or stabilizing soft, wet, or unsuitable material under the planned surface and replacing it with material that will actually carry the load.
Do you handle drainage?
We shape and prepare the site so water runs off rather than standing, and we prepare for drainage structures as the project requires. Grades are set so the finished surface sheds water in the right direction.
Do you do site prep for commercial projects?
Yes. Site preparation is performed for both residential driveways and commercial lots, pads, and access drives.
